This imposing baroque building was designed by James S. Wilson and William Wallace (no, not that one) in the late 19th century. In an area famous for doctors and music (Paul McCartney wrote “Yesterday” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand” just a few doors down), we like to think that Wimpole Street offers a therapeutic retreat from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. We worked with our friends DMFK again on this one; this grand, late Victorian building on the outside, has been thoroughly modernised on the inside. They made the first ever Speedometers for the motor car so we have some industrial heritage with the building, albeit much of it has been destroyed over the years. Still, we worked hard with architects Stiff & Trevillion to pull some of that character back. We also moved our head office into part of the space so the design has a little bit of everything we like from our other buildings; the space features a combination of industrial/contemporary style mixed with vintage/modern furniture and lighting.
